Universitatea de Arhitectură şi Urbanism Ion Mincu din Bucureşti

A series of photos taken at the "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest.

"The present building is the result of several extensions of the original building, erected between 1916 and 1927 following the design of Grigore Cerchez and registered as a historical monument. The extensions were built in the 1960’s and 70’s. The building complex (covering a built area of around 27068 square meters) occupies the whole block between Academiei, Edgar Quinet and Biserica Enei streets"

Here you can read more about the history of this big complex, which houses Faculty of Architecture, Faulty of Urbanism and also Faculty of Interior Design. You can also find there more photos of the historic part of the building, whereas I focused on the modernistic part of it. 

This part is kept in typically "Bucharestian" esthetics. A great example of a building from the front line of a rivalry between art nouveau and modernism in the territory of Bucharest.
